- Ch'Lafleur, Hortellus, Mon Jules, 1220
Julien Labesse worked hard before returning to his native city to create the Ambiani brewery (named after the Gauls who inhabited Samarobriva, the ancient name of Amiens)
Because he is proud of his city, each of his beers honours a unique aspect of its history. Like the puppet it is inspired by, Ch'Lafleur is a beer with character. It was awarded the Bronze Medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris in 2020. Hortellus is a gourmet beer, with very fruity notes, a pronounced but not overpowering bitterness, on a background of caramel malt for a well balanced recipe. Mon Jules, like the writer Jules Vernes from whom it was inspired, this beer has a taste for travel. Born from an Anglo-Saxon recipe and a hop of German origin, it is sweet and fruity with subtle notes of strawberry and melon. Finally, the 1220, which recalls the year the cathedral was built, is a Trappist-style beer, offering fans toasty, slightly caramelised flavours with dried fruit aromas.
10% of the brewery's profits are donated to Amiens associations and initiatives. If that's not local involvement! So be a consumer by drinking Ambiani Brewery beers!
